No student shall be denied admission to the University by reason of sex, religion, cultural or community affiliation or ethnic origin. The University may allocate admission to foreign students after all qualified Filipino applicants shall have been admitted subject to pertinent rules and regulations (SEC. 16 of Republic Act No. 9718 and Sec. 141, Art. 48, Chap. X of the University Code).
Every applicant for admission shall pass thorough physical, medical and other necessary examinations and established requirements as prerequisites for admission.
Admission of Foreign Students
Pursuant to second sub-paragraph of Section 141(1), Article 48, Chapter X of the University Code, the University may allocate admission to foreign students after all qualified Filipino applicants shall have been admitted subject to pertinent rules and regulations.
In addition, Section 166, Article 52, Chapter X of the University Code also provides that the University supports the provision of education to foreign non-immigrant students in accordance with the Philippine Immigration Action of 1940, as amended, and other relevant laws, rules and regulations subject to the existing policies in the University Code or under this Students’ Handbook and such other guidelines promulgated by the Board upon the recommendation by the University President.
Whenever necessary, a foreign student’s adviser under the Vice President for Academic Affairs shall be appointed from among the faculty members whose function shall be to look after the welfare of the foreign students enrolled in the University.
