NSU sets 1st POLL for FeNSUAA PDF Print E-mail

THE FIRST POLL for Federation of NSU Alumini Association (FeNSUAA) will be conducted this Ash Wednesday, February 13, 2013, setting new its administration to cater the needs of the alma mater’s alumni. The polling will be done at 7:30AM to 6:30PM for NSU Main Campus, 7:30AM to 5:30PM for NSU Biliran Campus, and 8:00AM to 3:00PM at Caibiran External Campus-Manlabang National High School. Several parties namely, EDGAR, VICER, SACAI, and an Independent Party, had organized themselves, expressing their intention for invaluable services to the organization. FeNSUAA coexists with NSUFAA, as the NSU administration and alumni’s optimisms envision a better option for true service and dedication that their members are exceedingly hoping for. Alumni are advised to bring the following upon voting: ID cards or certificate of membership issued by a qualified official of an appropriate alumni association, certificate of marriage for female voters, valid passport, CTC, valid ID’s, employment ID’s, or any ID’s issued by other government- owned agencies.

The An Lantugi NSU Debate Society will hold the 7th Dr. Edita S.Genson Debate Cup on January 16-18, 2013.

“This is a yearly event of the Deb Soc to showcase and grandstand debating in the locality. Thus, made to encourage students of the university to participate and be positive about it. And also, this is a preparation for regional or national debate tournaments,” says George Philip Hasegawa, Prime Minister of the NSU- Deb Soc.

Congratulations to NSU Debate Varsity Team, special mention to Mr. Joedel Ochea Peñaranda, who got the 2nd Best Speaker and Best Debater together with Mr. Mark Fristine Tarrayo Leanda and Mr. Ferdinand Leanda, who got the 3rd Best Speaker respectively during the recently concluded 7th Eastern Visayas Debate Championship (EVDC) held in UP Tacloban Campus last Dec. 14-16 2012. The group was also declared GRAND CHAMPION among the SUC's and private colleges in the region. The group’s Trainers/Coaches were Mr. Rey R. Garrido, and Mr. Ronald Olaivar.

The 2012 Accreditation Survey Visit commenced today, July 16, at Naval State University Gymnasium around 8:00 am.

In her welcome address, the University President Dr. Edita S. Genson extended her felicitations to the NSU family, local government units and stakeholders for being part and parcel of all the university’s undertakings to further its mission towards excellence.

Hon. Susan V. Parilla, Municipal Mayor of Naval, thru her representative Hon. Jerome Pitao, disclosed a very optimistic direction of the said survey.

“If we want to become globally competitive, let us focus on education and research & development,” Hon. Carlos Jericho “Icot” L. Petilla, Governor of the Province of Leyte, said yesterday, July 12, during his keynote address on the commencement of International Conference-Symposium on Research and Development Trends for Global Competitiveness held at Naval State University-Main Campus.

The governor emphasized the key role of the academe and research & development in our industries even in the local scene.

“If you have a local economy and you don’t act fast, somebody else will act; if you don’t produce well, somebody else from abroad will produce for you; if you are not trained well, somebody will steal the job,” Petilla stressed.
